Top-grade ambergris: a vanilla, musky, woody, floral aroma. As powerful as it is subtle, it enchants the senses every time! This is the most sought-after raw material in perfumery, gathered on beaches and aged for years by the sea before reaching this softness.
Grade A stands out by its paler colour and its softer, rounder, more vanilla-like scent compared with grade B. I use it every day in my personal blend.
Format: small piece, weighed by hand.
How to use it:
- Grate or grind finely
- Let it macerate in strong alcohol (tincture) or in vegetable oil for several weeks
- Filter, then use a few drops as a base note
A pinch is enough to scent a whole bottle of oil or tincture. Ambergris keeps indefinitely in an airtight container, away from light — and its fragrance keeps refining with time.
